The dyad ‚carer' and 'being cared for' is the basis for Nel Noddings' care ethics, conceptualized as a relational ethic. Revisiting feminist discussions on care and the basics of care ethics, it is outlined that caring and caregiving have to be discussed as different but yet related concepts. Furthermore, focus is given to the attempt to apply care ethics to global citizenship and particularly the problems of world poverty. In both cases special attention is given to the application of care theory to education.none
